Textured patterns in crochet - Raised stitch with crossed trebles

Stitches used:

Double Crochet – Insert hook into the stitch in the previous row, yarn over hook, draw loop through, yarn over hook, draw through both loops on hook.

Double treble: Yarn over hook twice, insert hook into the stitch in the previous row, yarn over hook, draw loop through, (yarn over hook, draw through 2 loops on hook) thrice.

Directions:

Foundation chains = Multiple of 3 + 1 = 3 x 5 +1 = 16 chains
Rows 1 – 3: 1 ch, dc into each of the stitches below.

Row 4:

1 dc into each of the first 2 dc below, * (yarn over hook) 2 times, insert hook into the upper part of the 1st stitch of row 1 from top to bottom, yarn over hook, draw loop through, (yarn over hook, draw through 2 loops on hook) twice – 2 loops remain on hook.

Now insert hook from top to bottom into the upper part of the 4th stitch of row 1, yarn over hook, draw loop through., (yarn over hook, draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Yarn over hook, pull through all the three loops on hook. 2 raised cross double trebles made.

Now in row 4, miss the 3rd dc of row 3 and work 1 dc each into the 4th and 5th dc of row 3. Repeat from * to end of row - the 4th dc of row 1 now becomes the 1st – ending with 2 dc into each of the last 2 dc.

Rows 5-7: 1 ch, dc into each dc in the row below.

Row 8: 1 ch, 1 dc into the dc below, yarn over hook twice, insert hook into the top of the stitch that joins the first 2 double trebles made in row 4.

Yarn over hook, pull loop through, (yarn over hook, pull through 2 loops on hook) twice * Miss 1 dc in row 7, dc in each of next 2 dc.

Yarn over hook twice, insert hook into the same space where the previous double treble was made. Yarn over hook, pull loop through, (yarn over hook, pull through 2 loops on hook) twice – 2 loops are left on hook. Yarn over hook twice, insert hook into the top of the stitch that joins the next 2 double trebles made in row 4 join. Yarn over hook, pull loop through, (yarn over hook, pull through 2 loops on hook) twice – 3 loops left on hook. Yarn over hook pull through all the 3 loops. Repeat from * ending with 1 double treble and 1 dc into the last dc of row. Repeat rows 1-8 for pattern.
